Montessori Preschool in a Daycare Setting

We offer an enriched program based on the respected Montessori method of education, designed to encourage a child’s individual development in all areas. Our small size and unique program combine to create a place where a child’s individuality can flourish.
Our school occupies a large, sunny classroom environment in McMurrich Public School, with direct access to a fenced outdoor playground and school facilities such as a gym and library.

OCH classroom staff includes 1 Montessori teacher and 2 RECE. We have 16 full-day spaces for toilet-trained children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years. Parents can choose to have their children attend OCH rather than kindergarten.

clocksThe school operates Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm, year round. OCH is closed for one week during the December holidays, as well as statutory holidays.

Originally incorporated in 1981 as the McMurrich Living and Learning Centre, Oakwood Children’s House is a non-profit organization, licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.

We also provide subsidized childcare through our Purchase of Service agreement with Metro Toronto Children’s Services. You can find OCH’s criteria results at Toronto Children Services by clicking here. Our government is run by a volunteer board of directors, elected and supported by the general parent body
